About Me I am a 4th generation American of Northern Swedish heritage.

Here on the homestead we practice a very simple country-style of paganism as I was raised to understand it.

I am blessed to be surrounded by natures bounty, enabling us to live in perfect harmony with the seasons, as nature intended. We feed the family with fish from the river in summer, venison from the woods in fall, garden preserves in winter and all the fresh new sprouts in spring.

I am also a very active member of Harmony Tribe. We have an intimate, very family friendly harvest festival every year in August. To learn more visit Sacred Harvest Fest '08! We will be there for the full 9 days. Sign up for a couple days and come hang out with us!

And please check out the new Harmony Tribe Forum, where we post updates on the development of Harvest Fest and stay connected throughout the year.

Music For Fun: I'm a 70's girl. I love Janis Joplin. ;) I'm also a fan of the early Big Head Todd, Johnny Lang, Cake, Spoon, etc. and I'm a total sucker for local music.

Belly Dance tunes: Beats Antique, Arcana, Gypsy Caravan.

I also really enjoy drum jams, and from time to time host a drum night here at the farm.
Movies I am a horrible sci-fi addict and love B movies. I recently found a boatload of pre 1950 horror films for a couple bucks each and bought the whole box.
TV I try not to watch tv at all. I have maybe one show per season and thats all the more time I try to give to it. I LOVE Dexter. We also watch The Tudors, The L word, and the new Battlestar Galactica show. Okay so that's four shows, but you weren't really counting were you?!
Books I am a terrible book junkie. If it's been printed I've either probably read it or it's on my list. I have a collection of herb books and plant ID books, recipe books, gardening books, farming books, craft books, and on and on. My shelves are beyond full with them tucked, stacked and wedgied in every way possible.

A new obsession is podcast novels. I'm finding they take up far less room. ;)
Hobbies Our little farm keeps me pretty busy, but I also tour the festival circuit in the summer selling handmade goods.
Heroes Women wise enough to celebrate the good of life along with the bad because it's all the same. Women who can admit their lives aren't as "rosey posey" as some would have everyone believe. Women who understand real honesty when they see it and can set themselves aside with quiet strength.

    Apple Trees!

Tuesday, May 13, 2008, 03:39 PM CST [Homesteading]

I have begun a home orchard and I honestly couldn't be more excited. So what I only have two trees? Next year I can add to the collection and before I know it I'll have more fruit than I know what to do with. ;)

    Chicks are here!

Saturday, May 3, 2008, 06:12 PM CST [Homesteading]

I got my chickies, and I'm so happy! Chicks are so fun. I've always felt, it's just not spring, without babies of some kind on the farm. I'll admit I was feeling pretty low last night, but these fuzzy little cheepers have done much to cheer me. I'm keeping a video blog at my Country Witching blog here:

Your welcome to stop by and have a look! :)
